This park will include a number of Alpine's FLOWFORM trail features, a pump track, three flow trails and a flat skills area. We have already begun to stockpile soil at the site in preparation for construction. Our next steps in this process are our 40% schematic and 100% construction documents. Barring any unforeseen issues, we expect to begin construction around August 8th, 2011.
Although the Red Mountain BMX trails are ready to ride, Woodland Park riders will have to wait to shred their new BMX facility until the skatepark and other infrastructure are completed during July, 2011. When the site is complete, skaters and riders will have a dream park ready for a new trend in self-guided recreation. Thanks to everyone at Spohn Ranch International and the City of Woodland Park for making this such a wonderful project. You guys have great dirt and it was a pleasure working with you all on such a groundbreaking new style of park facility. Also, thanks to our great team that contributed their time and heart to this work: Jacob Hyde, Morgan Benbough, Ted Van Orman, and Ryan Tague.
We are proud to have won the design/build bid for this new park in Victoria, BC.
Internationally acclaimed skatepark design/build company Spohn Ranch International has contracted Alpine Bike Parks to field design and construct the BMX trails at Red Mountain Adventure Park in Woodland Park, CO. Red Mountain Adventure Park will provide Woodland Park residents and visitors with a BMX facility and a skatepark facility in close proximity to a toddler playground and passive landscaped areas. The BMX trails are a mix of a traditional BMX track and dirt jumps . The course is about 10 feet wide and has four straights and three big, bowled out berms. Jumps are laid out so that you can simply roll don the center of the track or go for bigger jumps and transfers from straight to straight. This layout is great for beginning riders that are looking to grow their skills and also for more experienced riders that are looking for new challenges and hidden lines.
Valmont Bike Park opened on June 11, 2011 - marking the culmination of a long and innovative design/build project for Alpine Bike Parks and our many partners. Fifteen years in the making, Valmont was a true community effort that came to fruition through the united effort of a passionate cycling community, a forward-thinking parks and recreation department, and one of the best bike park teams in the business. Features of this game-changing facility include a progressive slopestyle course, cross-country trails, a dual slalom track, a UCI-approved cyclocross circuit, pump tracks and dirt jumps. Best of all, the park is free and open to the public. Alpine's all-star team of builders and shapers included professional fabricators and excavation professionals and trendsetters like former World Four-Cross Champion Eric Carter, and pro dirt jumpers Ryan Howard and Jacob Hyde. But just because this park was built by experts doesn't mean it's for experts only. Every section of the park is progressive, so it's a truly all-inclusive experience that allows riders of all skill levels to enjoy the park and safely improve their abilities. This uniquely thoughtful approach has made us an industry leader in the field of bike park and trail development and it was an honor to see all of our service offerings on display at the grand opening of Valmont. "This is exactly what we were looking for when we started dreaming of what this park could be," said Mike Eubank, Valmont's post-construction project manager. "Just look around. You see such a great cross-section of user groups--and they are all smiling!" "It's clear that these types of municipal projects are gaining popularity with land managers and city officials," said de Vall, a former professional mountain bike racer who founded Alpine Bike Parks in 2007. "When you can bring together a community in a way that's healthy, sustainable and fun, that's obviously a good thing."
